At Smart Start Care and Education Centre, we offer competitive rates, flexible hours and government funded free hours to keep childcare costs as affordable as possible for our families.  Our fees are inclusive of GST and are subject to change at any time.

We have a minimum booking of two half days per week per enrolment.

20 Hours ECE

Our Centre offers the 20 Hours ECE subsidy which is provided by the Ministry of Education to all 3, 4 and 5-year-old children.  This is not based on household income, however to be eligible you must complete a 20 Hours ECE Attestation form.

Find out if you're eligible for any other subsidies?

WINZ can help pay for part or most of your child’s fees. Families with a total household income under $90,000 are eligible and we can help you get started with the application.  To see if you’re eligible for a childcare subsidy view this page: Work and Income Childcare Subsidy Rates

Planning and Assessment

We endeavour to provide a play based curriculum that supports children’s learning and development in a meaningful and nurturing way. Family and Whānau are essential in our planning and assessment process and we value and encourage your participation. Each child has their own progress journal and section on Educa where their journey is documented, please take the time to engage and add your input.

Educa

As well as progress journal books, each child has an online portfolio through Educa, allowing you to see, learn and experience more of your child’s day.  It shows their learning and development through photos, learning stories, observations, child’s voice, adult voice and much more.

The children really enjoy looking through these progress journals and can recall special moments and memories. Online portfolios allow families to be more involved in a child’s learning. It is private and secure, only you can see your child’s online portfolio, although addtional family members or friends can be invited if you choose.
